Onboarding Guide

What is TwikBot?

Overview

TwikBot is a 3D product configuration and visualisation platform built for manufacturers and the agencies and partners who serve them. It enables complex, configurable products to be explored, validated, priced, and ordered visually in real time — and connects that process directly to manufacturing output.

TwikBot is a horizontal platform. It is not built for a specific industry — agencies and partners apply it to any product domain where configuration complexity, visual representation, and manufacturing output are relevant challenges. Current deployments span automotive personalisation programs, bicycles, doors & windows, and industrial products, but the platform is equally applicable to any manufacturer with configurable products.

At a high level, TwikBot operates across three layers:

Layer

What it does

Experience

Create configurator experiences and integrate into sales channels via the 3D customiser and Web SDK

CPQ Logic

Allow customers to manage products and integrate with business systems via product setup, sales channels, and order management

3D Parametric Engine

Automate production workflows and integrate with manufacturing via geometry adaptation, render engine, and production exports

What TwikBot Does

TwikBot brings together seven core capabilities in a single integrated platform:

3D Visualisation

Products are rendered in real time directly in the browser using Three.js and WebGL — no plugins or downloads required. As an end user selects options, the 3D representation updates instantly. TwikBot supports desktop, mobile, and AR (augmented reality) rendering modes, as well as high-fidelity Unreal Engine rendering for showroom and VR deployments.

Configuration Engine

A rules-based engine manages the logic behind a product — ensuring only valid combinations can be selected, enforcing dependencies between options, and driving the visual output based on the active configuration state. Parameters, constraints, and rules are all configured within the TwikBot Platform.

CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote)

Pricing is calculated automatically as a configuration is built, based on rule-based or formula-driven pricing models. TwikBot generates quotes and order documents directly from the configuration, and supports multi-market and multi-currency pricing.

Production File Generation

TwikBot generates production-ready output files directly from a validated configuration. The platform is agnostic towards digital production technologies — output is adaptable to any downstream manufacturing system, CAD environment, or production workflow, eliminating manual re-entry between sales and production.

Integrations

TwikBot connects to the broader technology ecosystem via a REST API and webhook system. Configuration data, pricing output, quotes, orders, and manufacturing files can flow into any external system — ERP (SAP, Odoo), CRM, PIM, eCommerce (Shopify, WooCommerce), or production platforms.

Commerce

The TwikBot Platform manages the full lifecycle of configurations, quotes, and orders — from initial configuration through to order submission and downstream handoff.

Account Management

TwikBot includes user and organisation management with role-based access control, enabling partners and manufacturers to manage team members, customers, and access rights across deployments.

Advanced: 3D Parametric Engine

For manufacturing-focused deployments, TwikBot's 3D Parametric Engine extends the platform's capabilities beyond standard configuration into automated geometry and production workflows. This is relevant for partners working with clients who require deep manufacturing integration.

Capabilities include:

  • Geometry adaptation — Automatically adapt 3D geometry based on configuration parameters, enabling dimension-driven or rule-driven shape changes

  • Lattice generation — Generate complex parametric structures (e.g. for additive manufacturing or lightweight structural components) directly from configuration output

  • Production exports — Output production-ready files in formats compatible with CAD systems and downstream manufacturing tools (including glTF and other standard formats)

These capabilities are available to partners working on advanced manufacturing use cases. Contact the Twikit team via support.twikit.com for more information.
